In a few short weeks, Foxy was a thin, exhausted new mom, cautiously wandering the woods of a neighborhood with her puppies trailing behind. Their eyes were full of fear, their ribs painfully visible. Each attempt to approach them failed as they darted away, sometimes running into traffic. Days later, when the little family disappeared entirely, panic set in.
Determined to find them, the neighbor asked around and made a horrifying discovery: Foxy and her puppies had been tricked and locked in a shed, abandoned to die in sweltering 100-degree heat without food or water.
By the time they were freed, they were barely clinging to life. Foxy had no choice but to trust her rescuers. The puppies were weak, dehydrated, and terrified. Foxy had done everything she could to keep her babies alive. They needed medical attention immediately. No one nearby could help them – until they called Brother Wolf. |
