Blu had no way of knowing what was about to happen. One moment she was safe, and the next, she wastrapped, unable to move. Blu was pinned beneath a pile of fallen trees and branches, stranded in standing water for days. Her family did everything they could. They crawled and climbed through debris, desperate to reach Blu. They brought her small amounts of comfort — handfuls of water, food, and affection gently offered through the narrow gaps in the branches.
Her story is sadly one of thousands of shock, resilience, love, trauma, and the incredible bond between people and animals.
