The past week has been excruciating. It’s hard to believe it’s only been a matter of days since Hurricane Helene brought historic rain with floodwaters swallowing our region, leaving our shelter in ruins and 150 animals in our care displaced.
Amidst the heartbreak and debris, we’ve been picking up the pieces. The few of us who can work are pushing forward, taking turns to hold each other up through moments of profound sorrow and grief.
