The loss. The grief. The community. The conflicting emotions. The moments of normalcy. It’s all so heavy.

For years, our Brother Wolf team has provided stability during tragedy, being the comforting voice who says, “We’re here to help.” Hurricane Helene ripped that away.

Looking at the faces of confused, lost, and scared animals is one of the most challenging things about this catastrophe. They don’t understand what is happening, why they lost their families, why they don’t recognize any faces, why everything smells different, or why people are crying.

With the complete loss of our shelter and transport vans, we’re doing all that we can to help our community’s pets and people right now, and we’re not at our typical capacity without our building. It hurts.

We’re not stopping; things just look different right now. We’re committed to rebuilding in the Asheville area, creating a new space for hope and healing. There is more need for Brother Wolf’s life-saving work in our region than ever before due to the massive devastation from Hurricane Helene.

We’re $105,233 away from reaching our initial fundraising goal to provide stability to Brother Wolf, a path to move forward, to help animals from a temporary facility in Asheville as we build a new shelter.

If you have already donated, thank you. We can’t express how much it means to us. We know you care about animals and want them to experience the goodness life can offer – the goodness that Brother Wolf brings into the lives of thousands of animals and the people who love them each year.
